SOULFULLIVING.COM -- A MONTHLY OASIS FOR HEALING & JOY

April Issue Explores the Healing Power of Written Self-Expression

LOS ANGELES, CA, April 1, 2000 – SoulfulLiving.com, a new online guide for whole life living, brings an oasis for healing and joy to the Internet each month, as it explores unique themes of soulful interest, with highly regarded experts and best-selling authors, in a peaceful and meaningful, online environment.

Launched January 1, 2000, its mission is to become the premier online destination for the community of 24 million adults, highly concerned with self-actualization, spirituality, self-expression, ecological sustainability, and women’s issues, that make up the "Core" group of Cultural Creatives, a subculture of "leading-edge" thinkers and creators, as defined by sociologist Paul H. Ray, Ph.D.

The April issue encourages visitors to look inward and take pen to paper, as it explores "Writing for Reflection and Intention." Medical research has shown that the simple act of writing one’s personal thoughts and feelings can improve mental, as well as physical health. This month’s group of experts suggests that writing can benefit the spirit, as well. April’s expert contributors include:

Henriette Anne Klauser, Ph.D, one of America's leading authorities on communications and writing productivity and author of the best-selling books Writing on Both Sides of the Brain (HarperCollins, 1987, now in its 20th printing) and Put Your Heart on Paper (Bantam, 1995, now in its 6th printing). Her newest book, Write it Down, Make it Happen (Simon & Schuster, 2000) is now available. Henriette is the president of Writing Resources, a seminar and consulting organization in existence since 1979. http://www.henrietteklauser.com

Eldonna Bouton, author of Loose Ends, A Journaling Tool for Tying up the Incomplete Details of your Life and Heart, Write Away: A Journal Writing Tool Kit and Journaling from the Heart: A Writing Workshop in Three Parts. A lifelong journaler and diary enthusiast, Ms. Bouton offers online journaling workshops as well as seminars and lectures around the country. The author also publishes a monthly online newsletter titled "Writefully Yours" for writers & journalers. http://www.whole-heart.com

Kathleen Adams LPC, RPT, best-selling author, speaker, psychotherapist and visionary. Her first book, Journal to the Self (1990, Warner Books) is a classic that helped open the gates to the current cultural phenomenon of therapeutic writing. Her most recent book, The Write Way to Wellness ™ (2000, The Center for Journal Therapy) is hailed as a map for understanding body, mind and spirit. She has also written The Way of the Journal (1998, Sidran Press). http://www.journaltherapy.com

Joyce Chapman, best-selling author, speaker, and professional and personal coach. A pioneer in the field of journal keeping, she provides step-by-step journaling techniques for actualizing dreams to individuals, groups and companies through her books, newsletters, workshops, training programs, and coaching sessions. She is known for her landmark books Journaling For Joy, Live Your Dream and If I Had Three Wishes, The Only One Would Be… Her most recent publication, Notice! & Journal continues her pioneering work in the field of journaling. http://www.joycechapman.com

Tristine Rainer, Ph.D., best-selling author of Your Life as Story, Discovering the "New Autobiography" and Writing Memoir as Literature, published in hard cover in 1997 by Tarcher/Penguin-Putnam. Her earlier book, The New Diary, how to use a journal for self-guidance and expanded creativity, has sold over 300,000 copies and is considered the definitive work on contemporary diary writing. She is the Director of the Center for Autobiographic Studies, a non-profit educational organization, which offers classes and an annual works-in-progress retreat. http://www.storyhelp.com

Ray Whiting, who has been a minister and coach for over twenty-five years. His international ministry focuses on a humane approach to spirituality. His daily newsletter, Two Scoops reaches around the world delivering the tools and techniques for creating the life you always knew you deserve. It's like having your own personal coach visit you each day! There is no question or concern too sacred to be examined, questioned, and challenged. http://www.twoscoops.com

Lori Dixon, who holds a Masters degree in counseling, is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, and undergraduate training in art and art therapy. She currently works from her home studio in Scottsdale, Arizona designing websites and creating inspirational art that she sells at http://www.abundancebox.com.

To encourage the process of healing through journaling, an "Open Journal" feature has been added to SoulfulLiving this month. The interactive diary provides visitors with an opportunity to share their most personal thoughts and dreams, anonymously, if they wish. April visitors may also enter to win a set of three "Gemstone Journals" from Ventana-Window of Heaven Online Catalog.

SoulfulLiving.com archives its past issues, making them available to its visitors year-round. The March issue focused on "The Soul and the Environment," and featured articles by authors: Christopher Day, Nancilee Wydra, Peg Streep, Steve Zikman, and Michael J. Cohen. The January and February premiere issues were devoted to the topic of "Beginning with a Soulful Home." Contributing authors included: Denise Linn, Karen Kingston, Sarah Susanka, Debra Lynn Dadd, Michelle Passoff, Jami Lin, and Paris Mannion.
